Microphotography for the Pharmaceutical Industry

The Scanning Electron Microscope is our tool for authentic scientific images for the pharmaceutic and medical industry. We create images with a high aesthetic value for advertising as well as for scientific documentation. Crystals, drugs, antibiotics, probiotics, fluids, ointments, cells or organs? No matter which field of Pharmacy: Challenge us, we'll find a way to image it!

Bifidobacterium

Bifidobacterium breve is used in many "probiotic" food supplements, starting with formula milk for infants. For pharmaceutical use, different strains of bacteria are mixed and provided with excipients and brought into powder or capsule form. Scanning electron micrograph at 19,000x magnification.

Digitalis

Scanning electron micrograph of Digitalis purpurea leaf, (foxglove). In Pharmacy, the extracted digitoxin is used to reduce the pulse rate. Magnification: 160x at 15 cm width.

Polyvinylpyrrolidon

Polyvinylpyrrolidone is used as an additive in the pharmaceutical industry (as a binder, in eye drops), in detergents and shampoos as a thickener and as an adhesive in hair gels and hair spray. Scanning electron microscope, 230:1

Clostridium botulinum

Scanning electron micrograph of Clostridium botulinum. In Pharmacy, botulinum toxin is injected under the skin in the face to paralyze muscles and thus smooth wrinkles. SEM, 20,000:1

For many years we produced micrographs for calendars, advertising or exhibitions showing images from life sciences.

eye of science works in the broad field of pharmacy with the scanning electron microscope. To illustrate pharmaceutical belongings, we photograph active substances, their crystals, fillers, medical herbs, ointments as well as the effects of active ingredients on bacteria or cells. The goal is the highest possible aesthetic representation while maintaining scientific authenticity. The pharmaceutical industry uses these images in calendars, in advertising or on fairs. Via the menu on top you will find examples of our work on electron microscopy, as well as light microscopy and underwater photography, grouped by topic.
